What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Immunomodulatory 28-amino-acid peptide for immune research.
Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide originally isolated from thymic tissue, widely studied as an immunomodulator. It is studied in the context of T-cell maturation, dendritic-cell activation and Toll-like-receptor signalling in cellular and preclinical models. Researchers investigate Thymosin Alpha-1 for its role in innate and adaptive immune balance, cytokine regulation and antiviral immune-response models. Its established immunological profile makes it a reference compound in immune research. Third-party tested to 99%+ purity and supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory reconstitution. For research purposes only, not for human consumption.

All research guides- What is thymosin alpha 1? Thymalfasin in published researchThymosin alpha 1 is a heat stable, highly acidic peptide of 28 amino acids, isolated and sequenced from calf thymus in 1977 and produced in the body by cleavage of prothymosin alpha. Its synthetic form is called thymalfasin. In mouse and human cell studies it activated dendritic cells through Toll-like receptor signalling and induced the tolerance enzyme IDO. Human trials are numerous but mixed: an early sepsis trial reported a borderline result, while a 2025 placebo controlled phase 3 trial of 1,106 adults found no difference in 28 day mortality. Vitality Peps supplies it for in vitro laboratory research only.9 min read
- How to Store and Handle Research PeptidesLyophilised research peptides are stored in the refrigerator at 2 to 8 °C, or frozen at -20 °C for longer storage, sealed and protected from light. After reconstitution with [bacteriostatic water](/product/bacteriostatic-water-10ml) the solution is kept refrigerated, never shaken, and never refrozen.5 min read
- How to Read a Peptide COA (Certificate of Analysis)A peptide certificate of analysis shows what an independent laboratory found in one specific batch: identity confirmed by mass spectrometry, purity measured by HPLC, and the measured quantity against the labelled amount. Read it by checking the identity result first, then the purity figure and the test date.6 min read

- What your vial should look likeA sealed research peptide vial normally holds a white to off-white lyophilized cake or powder under an intact stopper and crimp cap. Pre-filled pens and nasal spray kits arrive sealed, with their documented appearance on the product page. Appearance never proves identity or purity; the COA for the batch does.4 min read
