What is KPV?
Alpha-MSH-derived tripeptide studied in anti-inflammatory and gut research.
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, studied for its anti-inflammatory signalling. It is studied in the context of NF-kB pathway modulation, pro-inflammatory cytokine regulation and intestinal-barrier integrity in cellular and preclinical models. Researchers investigate KPV for its role in mucosal-inflammation models and immune-signalling research. Its compact, stable structure makes it a reference compound in anti-inflammatory and gut-health research. Third-party tested to 99%+ purity and supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory reconstitution. For research purposes only, not for human consumption.

All research guides- What is KPV? The alpha-MSH tripeptide in published researchKPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, residues 11 to 13 at the C terminus of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. In published research it reduced NF-kappaB signalling and inflammatory cytokine release in human intestinal, airway and immune cell lines, and it reduced signs of colitis in several mouse models. Its uptake into intestinal cells was linked to the PepT1 transporter. Studies also reported antimicrobial activity in vitro and faster corneal wound closure in rabbits. No controlled human trials have been published, so the evidence is cell and animal work. Vitality Peps supplies KPV for in vitro laboratory research only.8 min read
- KPV vs BPC-157: how the research comparesKPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val from the C terminus of alpha-MSH. BPC-157 is the pentadecapeptide GEPPPGKPADDAGLV, a partial sequence of a protein described in human gastric juice. In published research KPV reduced NF-kappaB signalling in human cell lines and reduced colitis in mice, with uptake linked to the PepT1 transporter. BPC-157 was associated with VEGFR2 signalling, tendon fibroblast migration and faster healing in rat injury models. Human data are minimal for both: none for KPV, two small uncontrolled reports for BPC-157. No study has tested them together. Both are supplied for in vitro research only.11 min read
- What is thymosin alpha 1? Thymalfasin in published researchThymosin alpha 1 is a heat stable, highly acidic peptide of 28 amino acids, isolated and sequenced from calf thymus in 1977 and produced in the body by cleavage of prothymosin alpha. Its synthetic form is called thymalfasin. In mouse and human cell studies it activated dendritic cells through Toll-like receptor signalling and induced the tolerance enzyme IDO. Human trials are numerous but mixed: an early sepsis trial reported a borderline result, while a 2025 placebo controlled phase 3 trial of 1,106 adults found no difference in 28 day mortality. Vitality Peps supplies it for in vitro laboratory research only.9 min read
- How to Store and Handle Research PeptidesLyophilised research peptides are stored in the refrigerator at 2 to 8 °C, or frozen at -20 °C for longer storage, sealed and protected from light. After reconstitution with [bacteriostatic water](/product/bacteriostatic-water-10ml) the solution is kept refrigerated, never shaken, and never refrozen.5 min read
- What your vial should look likeA sealed research peptide vial normally holds a white to off-white lyophilized cake or powder under an intact stopper and crimp cap. Pre-filled pens and nasal spray kits arrive sealed, with their documented appearance on the product page. Appearance never proves identity or purity; the COA for the batch does.4 min read
